About Me

My name is Andy Borders and I’ve been a free-lance artist working out of my art studio in Malden, MO since 1991. I enjoy adding a unique perspective to my work in order to make each piece memorable. My work can be seen in comic books, lithographs, posters as well as online graphic forums. Commission pieces and public appearances are available.

Born in 1970, Andy grew up in the southeastern part of Missouri called the "boot heel."

To say he is a lover of fantasy is an understatement.  He first discovered the works of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings in middle school and was hooked ever since. From there on out, his days would be spent reading any sci-fi / fantasy literature that he could acquire.  A natural progression of role-playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons , Call of Cthulhu & Vampire: The Masquerade would then follow.

He is also a lover of all forms of music. With an eclectic taste, he listens to anything from David Bowie, Tom Waits, King Crimson, Howlin' Wolf, Jane's Addiction etc.

Andy has written and illustrated a number of small press and indy comic books such as:

*EVERY LAST ONE: The Adventures of Six-gun Sally & Samurai Sue

*The Dreary Life of Abner Prost

* Suspenders & A Belt

*Litany of the Jacks (novel)

*Tales From The Deadwax - A Vinyl Community Comic Book

He currently resides in Malden, MO with his lovely wife Sunny.

They have 5 children & five grandchildren.
